Temporary Utility Helper (Finance)



Four Openings

Superior Water, Light and Power (SWL&P), an ALLETE company, provides electricity, water, and natural gas to customers in Superior, Wisconsin, and adjacent areas. Its offices are in Superior in northwestern Wisconsin across the St. Louis River from Duluth, Minnesota, where ALLETE is headquartered. SWL&P has served this region for more than 130 years and today has 15,000 electric customers, 13,000 natural gas customers and 10,000 water customers. RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide labor support for various crews and departments as assigned
  • Will perform miscellaneous facility and grounds cleanup including lawn care
  • Effective interpersonal and communication skills are required to establish and maintain positive working relationships with customers

REQUIRED EDUCATION:
  • Must possess a High School diploma or equivalent by June 1, 2025

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:
  • Three months or more job related work experience

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
  • This position will report regularly in person to Superior, WI
  • Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license
  • Must be 18 years of age or older by June 1, 2025
  • Must follow applicable safety rules and regulations
  • Must be able to:
    • Use hand held tools and power tools in carrying out assigned tasks
    • Meter set painting
    • Navigate IPad mapping tools
    • Understand simple oral instructions
    • Move, hoist and carry various materials
  • Occasional work is performed in woods, fields and swamps
  • Frequently loads and unloads heavy materials and equipment
  • Requires physical exertion when digging trenches, and cutting brush
  • This position may be subject to assessment of skills, job match and/or aptitude
