POSITION SUMMARY:
Reporting to the Associate Director of Admissions, the Nursing Admissions Evaluation Advisor I is responsible for the evaluation of all applications within their assigned nursing populations at both the undergraduate and graduate level. This entry-level position serves as the primary point of contact for applicants, guiding them through the application process and providing accurate information about
program requirements.
This job requires strong communication skills, a student-oriented attitude, and a commitment to working with a diverse student population. The role requires extensive knowledge of university and college policies, discretion in decision-making, and the ability to manage various projects effectively. The nursing admissions team strives to be knowledgeable, accessible, and transparent with all prospective students we serve.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
This position is responsible for the evaluation and processing of undergraduate and graduate applications for the College of Nursing. This includes essay reviews, prerequisite course evaluations, scoring with our holistic admissions rubric, calculating GPAs, transcript review, determining eligibility, and communicating with prospective students when they have questions about their application or the application process. This person will also need to communicate with applicants to inform them of missing information in their application and deadlines when applicable. This person will need to utilize several university systems and software such as Banner, DegreeWorks, NursingCAS, Microsoft Office Suite, and more.
The person in this role will be responsible for maintaining accurate admissions records and data for the College of Nursing. Monthly reports for all active admission cycles are required to be organized and sent to senior leadership with guidance from the Associate Director of Admissions.
The person in this position is responsible for making sure our admissions content and directions are clear and concise across all platforms where they are listed. They should recommend solutions to database management, admissions policies, and process improvement with daily admissions operations when applicable.
Collaborate with the other admission recruiter advisors to present admissions information to prospective students and families when needed. Attend and participate in events put on by the Office of Student Success such as the Baccalaureate Pinning Ceremony, undergraduate and graduate white coat ceremonies, new student orientation (as needed), and other college-wide events.
Attends meetings with other college and university personnel regarding policies and procedures. Responsible for the maintenance of the admissions standard operating procedures. Communicates with faculty frequently regarding admissions criteria and other topics relevant to the admissions process. Confers with other university offices, such as undergraduate/graduate admissions and registrar, on proper policies related to college processes.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:
MINIMUM:
This position requires a master's degree in marketing, Communication, Education or other related field; or a bachelor's degree in those same fields with a minimum of one year of directly related experience.
Senate Bill 1310- The Florida Senate (https://www.flsenate.gov/Session/Bill/2023/1310) is conditional upon meeting all employment eligibility requirements in the U.S.
SB 1310: Substitution of Work Experience for Postsecondary Education Requirements
A public employer may include a postsecondary degree as a baseline requirement only as an alternative to the number of years of direct experience required, not to exceed:
(a) Two years of direct experience for an associate degree;
(b) Four years of direct experience for a bachelors degree;
(c) Six years of direct experience for a masters degree;
(d) Seven years of direct experience for a professional degree; or
(e) Nine years of direct experience for a doctoral degree
Related work experience may not substitute for any required licensure, certification, or registration required for the position of employment as established by the public employer and indicated in the advertised description of the position of employment.
Minimum Qualifications that require a high school diploma are exempt from SB 1310.
