Sr Engineer (Architecture)

• Provide technical support and leadership in area(s) of assigned responsibility including material selection, structural requirements, tolerances, aesthetics and testing.
• Plan, direct and control engineering effort directly related to assigned projects, including establishing program criteria, planning & scheduling.
• Work with suppliers to validate product designs meet Manitowoc specifications.
• Prepare project development criteria in accordance with management objectives.
• Maintain close contact and coordinate activities with other groups within the product Engineering Department.
• Assist other departments in preparation of manuals and sales literature on assigned projects.
• Supervise work of assigned resources including internal or external contractors.
• Ability to perform job functions in a safe manner.
• Successfully complete all safety training required by the time constraints set by governmental regulations.
• Ability to wear all Personal Protective Equipment (P.P.E.) required, by company policy, for the job being performed.

Required Skills/Abilities:
• Extensive experience with new concept design and documentation of large steel
weldments and assemblies. Prepare concept sketches, layouts, detailed 3D models, 2D
drawings, Bills of Material, and Specification documents as required.
• Application of advanced welding processes in designs.
• Experience writing test requests.
• Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot mechanisms and perform forensic reviews of structural failures.
• Fundamental knowledge of hydraulic systems and components.

Required Education and Experience:
• Bachelor's degree in engineering with a minimum of 5 years' experience engineering equipment or in a related industry.
• Must have 3 to 5 years' experience in Engineering

Preferred Education and Experience
• Creo 10 and Windchill is preferred.
• ANSYS experience is a plus.
• Experience with off-highway/construction equipment a plus.
• PE License is beneficial.

Physical Requirements:
• Must be capable of being on a job site or production factory environment, heat, cold, wet, dry, etc. for brief periods of time.
• May be required to stand, reach, climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
• May require lifting and/or moving of up to 25 pounds.

Health and Safety:
• Maintain departmental housekeeping and 5S standards.
• Perform job functions in a safe manner.
• Wear all Personal Protective Equipment (P.P.E.) required by Company Policy for the job being performed both in the facility and during customer visits.
• Know and follow established job specific and facility wide safety and health procedures and rules.
• Actively participate in safety and health training and demonstrate competency based on training received.
• Bring safety and health issues, unsafe acts, and safety suggestions to management's attention or correct those you can.

Work Environment:
• Normal office environment. Occasional visit to job site, test yard or factory with focus on safe working practices.
Travel Required: (Percentage 0-100) Domestic 10%
