Job Summary:
The Team Lead is a regular full-time employee within the department (operating machinery and equipment) with additional duties to assist the Department Supervisor. This position will provide basic oversight and assistance for the assigned department and the employees during times when the supervisor is unavailable and/or during off-shift times. The Team Lead will ensure daily work instruction adherence and provide general direction to employees, as well as oversee and ensure timely and complete execution of on-the-job-training. Team Lead will assess and handle emergencies within their scope of responsibility and assign work to other employees within the assigned team.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Ensure safety and report any incidents
- Ensure the timely completion of OJT checklists for all employees
- Inspect/Monitor production of work ensuring materials and finished goods meet established quality standards
- Inform supervisor if a problems which cannot be resolved or rule violations
- Monitor employee transactions in ERP
- Solve problems and support lean initiatives to improve throughput
- Ensure production meets scheduling requirements and operators are working efficiently and in accordance with SOP's.
- Monitor production of work ensuring materials and finished goods are meeting production schedule and quality standards
- Ensure safety of work area; ensure employees follow proper safety procedures in the completion of daily tasks
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:
- High School Diploma/GED required
- 1+ years of manufacturing and machine operating experience
- Forklift and bucket truck experience required
- Proven ability to multitask in a stressful environment (dirty, confined spaces, strict timelines, etc.), attention to detail, and adapt to changing demands
- Must be safety conscious and carry out work responsibilities in a safe manner
- Must be able to work overtime to meet operational requirements
- Must be able to coordinate people and equipment to meet production goals
- Must be able to recognize potential problems and work toward solutions
- Proficient computer skills (inventory data entry and adjustments, read work orders, email, etc.)
