ORGANIZATIONAL SUMMARY:

POSITION SUMMARY:
The Director of Communications and Marketing is responsible for developing and implementing strategic communication and marketing plans to enhance the College of Artificial Intelligence, Cybersecurity and Computing brand. This role involves managing a team of professionals and overseeing various communication and marketing initiatives such as media relations, advertising, social media, public relations, and internal communications. The Director of Communications and Marketing works closely with senior leadership to ensure that messaging aligns with organizational goals and objectives, and effectively reaches target audiences. Strong leadership, strategic thinking, and excellent communication skills are essential for success in this role.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Lead, manage, and supervise staff and operations dealing with college-wide (school & program) marketing, public relations, web development/maintenance, and internal and external communications such as newsletters and email blasts.
Champion importance of the university brand across key internal constituencies.
Build relationships with other units to ensure consistency and quality in college-wide marketing, promotions, web and advertising activities.
Oversee and develop production of promotional / advertising materials in print and/or multimedia formation.
Oversee the development of publications, at times creating copy and design from start-to-finish.
Develop and analyze the most effective and efficient product/cost/ promotions model and provide direction and advice to administrators and departmental leaders to enhance current programs and create new initiatives.
Responsible for developing and managing communication and marketing budget.
Produce presentations and speeches to promote the division and units within the division and / or develop presentations and speeches for delivery by others. Position will also oversee responses for information from the media and public, distribution of promotional materials, and present information to internal and external groups.
Enhance the college's brand/image through the creation and implementation of marketing materials and/or public relations strategies that link mission, vision and strategic priorities across all audiences and departments.
Perform other duties as assigned
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:
MINIMUM:
Bachelor's degree and minimum of seven (7) years related experience. A minimum of three (3) years managerial experience. Demonstrated leadership experience and the ability to partner and build strategic relationships with both internal and external key stakeholders. Possesses extensive knowledge of the field's policies, procedures, and practices.
PREFERRED:
Master's degree in mass communications, marketing, public relations, technical writing, or digital media.
FLSB1310 Equivalency:
4 years of directly relevant experience may be substituted for bachelor's degree.
6 years of directly relevant experience may be substituted for master's degree.
10 years experience in marketing, branding, advertising and strategic communications, including web development and emerging media; demonstrated success delivering results across multiple outreach platforms, preferably in a higher education environment. Skilled in various Adobe software to create comprehensive design solutions.
