Research Scientist-TTI--The Brown Foundation Institute of Molecular Medicine (Finance)
Under the direction of the principal investigator, the job duties are as follows:
1. Provides project management for research experiments around neurological health. The management will be to support desired outcomes and timelines.
2. Plans methods and procedures for collection of data.
3. Conduct experiments using sophisticated equipment such as multi-photon live-imaging systems, electrophysiology, multi-channel EEG recording, confocal microscopy, and cell culture facility.
4. Influences project direction and outcomes by identifying opportunities to enhance or re-direct research activities. Will monitor and revise, as necessary, the project timeline, expenditures, and supplies.
5. Will provide data to assist in the preparation and writing of research reports, manuscripts, papers and grant proposals for presentation, submission, and publication.
6. Will oversee the lab projects to ensure efficient, timely and high-quality results in compliance with all protocols, guidelines, regulations, etc.
7. May assist in training fellows, graduate students and others as appropriate in support of the University's mission.
8. Maintains quality control checks and a safe environment in compliance with all governmental and University policies, rules, regulations and codes.
Position Summary:
Plans, supervises, and directs research, investigation, or other technical operations. Provides technical expertise to facilitate the design, implementation, and analysis of procedures, techniques, and results, which enables investigators to conduct research projects.

Minimum Education:
Doctorate Degree.
Minimum Experience:
Two (2) years of experience in a related research environment and have verifiable publications within the field of the research project.
Physical Requirements:
Exerts up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or negligible amount of force constantly to move objects.
This position may include work involving potentially hazardous chemical, biological or radioactive agents.
