Essential Duties and Responsibilities Policy Monitoring and Analysis: Track and analyze local, state, and federal legislation affecting older adults, aging services and relevant healthcare programs (Medicaid & Medicare). Prepare policy briefs, reports, and position statements to inform and guide DAAAs advocacy efforts. Advocacy and Outreach: Develop and implement advocacy strategies to influence public policy in favor of older adults. Build and maintain relationships with elected officials, government agencies, and community stakeholders. Represent DAAA at legislative hearings, meetings, and public forums. Community Engagement: Educate and mobilize community members, including older adults and caregivers, to participate in advocacy efforts. Organize and conduct advocacy training sessions, workshops, and events. Collaborate with community organizations and coalitions to amplify advocacy efforts. Communication and Public Relations: Develop and disseminate advocacy materials, including newsletters, social media content, and press releases. Serve as a spokesperson for DAAA on legislative and policy issues. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of aging issues and trends to effectively communicate with stakeholders.
