We are seeking a Waste Management Specialist Energy, to join our team in the Oak Ridge, TN office.

How will you contribute to the team?
Serves as a subject matter expert in waste management, environmental compliance with a focus on wastewater acceptance and processing.
Leads on-site wastewater treatment and liquid waste management activities.
Serves as an expert in radioactive and hazardous waste characterization, packaging, storage, and disposition in accordance with RCRA, TSCA, DOE Order 435.1, and DOT regulations.
Performs oversight of multiple wastewater treatment processes and directs as necessary to support continuous and safe waste management.
Champions development and implementation of new waste treatment operations/processes as needed to meet Client requests to provide expanded waste treatment services.
Will act as the lead waste management specialist on projects concerning wastewater acceptance and treatment.
Interfaces with Project Manager and Client and successfully delivers waste management solutions in accordance with customer specifications and requirements.
Leads development and ensures compliance with engineering policies and procedures.
Performs personnel training as necessary for new/revised procedures and/or process modifications.
Assists in preparation and revision of technical documents supporting Waste Management.
Champions development and implementation of new wastewater treatment processes.
Performs laboratory investigations for development, testing, and implementing chemical/radiological waste treatment methods.
Performs/reviews engineering assessments and calculations used to quantify chemical/radiological content in process waste streams.
Performs routine entry into radiological material storage areas and radiologically contaminated areas, wearing all required PPE (respiratory protection equipment occasionally required).
Performs other duties as assigned.
What will you contribute?
Bachelor's degree required in Engineering, a scientific discipline, or related technical field.
Minimum of 3 years of experience in waste management, environmental compliance, or waste transportation.
Proven experience and demonstrated proficiency in wastewater treatment and liquid waste management including radioactive and hazardous waste characterization, packaging, storage, and disposition in accordance with RCRA, TSCA, DOE Order 435.1, and DOT regulations.
Experience working at a RCRA permitted facility and maintaining a DOE/NNSA facility within prescribed facility safety envelope.
Ability to effectively communicate and collaborate.
Ability to Obtain USDOE Security Clearance.
Demonstrated technical skills and personnel management abilities.
Demonstrated experience supporting management of chemical or wastewater production/treatment products.
Demonstrated ability to conceive, design, develop and implement new operations and processes.
Demonstrated experience managing subcontractors.
Must be viewed by Client and Project Manager as an expert in waste management.
Must demonstrate strong oral and written communication skills.
Must be a self-starter who can work in a team environment with minimal direction and supervision.
Demonstrated ability applying experience and judgment with a wide degree of creativity and latitude.
Must be a U.S citizen in order to be considered.
