The Digital Commerce organization at Lonza's Capsule & Health Ingredients (CHI) is driving a digital transformation and is seeking a dedicated and highly skilled and expert Digital Solutions Architect to craft and architect a groundbreaking e-commerce portal, while integrating with key enterprise systems. This role is remote; however, our ideal candidate will be located on the East coast.
The position will be instrumental in ensuring the flawless integration of these platforms, optimizing user experience, and delivering a robust, scalable, and high-performance e-commerce solution. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in e-commerce technologies and a solid understanding of integrating with ERP, CRM, and PIM systems to build a cohesive online retail experience.
Key Responsibilities:
Architect a scalable, high-performance e-commerce portal, integrating seamlessly with ERP, CRM, and PIM systems to optimize user experience and business processes.
Own the integration strategy, ensuring smooth and efficient data synchronization across platforms (inventory, customer data, orders, product catalogs).
Customize and optimize the commerce engine, incorporating sophisticated features like personalized shopping experiences, promotions, and streamlined checkout flows.
Provide technical leadership, guiding development teams on standard methodologies for e-commerce development, system integration, and optimization.
Solve and resolve sophisticated integration issues between the commerce engine, ERP, CRM, and PIM systems.
Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams (e.g., R&D, product managers, business analysts, and collaborators) to ensure alignment on project goals and deliverables.
Oversee project planning, design, and execution, ensuring e-commerce and system integrations are delivered on time, within scope, and meet business objectives.
Drive adoption of agile methodologies, promoting continuous teamwork and transparency across teams.
Develop and maintain technical architecture blueprints, integration documentation, and specifications to support development and deployment.
Supervise and optimize the e-commerce platform's performance, ensuring fast load times, reliability, and accurate product information synchronization.
Lead post-launch evaluations to continuously improve the platform, incorporating customer feedback and technological advancements.
Key Requirements:
Shown experience architecting e-commerce platforms and integrating with ERP, CRM, and PIM solutions in large-scale environments.
Hands-on expertise with ERP integrations and CRM systems.
Extensive knowledge of PIM systems and their integration with e-commerce platforms to enhance customer experience and product data accuracy.
Skilled in system configuration, theme development, and API integration for e-commerce platforms. In-depth understanding of ERP integrations and CRM APIs for customer data, order management, and marketing automation.
Proficient in using RESTful and SOAP APIs, middleware, and integration tools to connect e-commerce platforms, ERP, CRM, and PIM systems.
Experience leading large-scale e-commerce portal implementations with sophisticated system integrations across multiple platforms.
Familiar with agile methodologies (e.g., Scrum, Kanban) and adept at handling project timelines, resources, and risks.
Good communication skills, able to collaborate optimally with both technical and non-technical team members.
Leadership experience with the ability to mentor teams and navigate the complexities of e-commerce, ERP, CRM, and PIM integrations.
Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience, preferably IT or Engineering; master's and/or MBA preferred.
The ideal candidate will be geographically located in the East coast or Midwestern US. Approximately 10% travel required, including internal meetings and industry conferences.

The full-time base annual salary for this Remote position is expected to range between $130,000.00 and $221,000.00. Compensation for the role will depend on a number of factors, including the successful candidate's qualifications, skills, competencies, experience, and job-related knowledge.
