Internship - Human Resources & Training (Human Resources)
6-12 week program, typically from May through August, but is flexible depending on student availability and department needs.
Interns will work directly within a department or departments as directed by management.
Participants are paid an hourly wage and PT Benefits.
Program may qualify for college credits based on the college/university's guidelines.
Interns are required to attend at least one volunteer opportunity while in the program. The volunteer opportunity can be chosen by the intern or organized by the bank.
Interns may also be asked to participate in bank sponsored community events such as Customer Appreciation meals, bank events, etc.
Opportunities to shadow and learn in other departments may be available.
Acceptance into the Internship Program is not a promise for long-term employment.
Student Requirements:
Qualified intern applicants must have completed 1 year of college.
To apply for the Internship Program, students must submit a current resume.
Formal interviews are required (In-person or virtual) as well as completion of required background checks before an official offer will be made.
Interns will be required to work between 35-40 hours a week.
Interns are required to act professionally and ethically in accordance with all of Somerset Trust Company's rules and requirements written within our Policies, Code of Conduct and Employee Handbook. (Any violation of policy or performance issues may result in disciplinary action or termination of the internship.
Training:
Initial onboarding will be performed by Human Resources.
System overviews and required trainings will be conducted by the Training Staff.
Department specific training will be done within each assigned department.
Additional training opportunities will be assigned throughout the Interns time with STC such as Active Listening, Credit Awareness, Emotional Intelligence, etc.
Compliance courses will be assigned and required to be completed within the first few weeks of the internship program.
