This is an amazing time to join the Mobility team, as we were recently awarded the Gateway Program Hudson Tunnel Project Delivery Partner Project!

As a Communications, Public Administration, and Policy Intern, you will be an integral part of the Gateway Program team, assisting in the development and execution of communication strategies, stakeholder engagement, and policy research efforts. This position provides an opportunity to contribute to a high-profile infrastructure project, gain hands-on experience in public administration and policy, and enhance your skills in strategic communications.

Working alongside experienced professionals, you will help ensure the Gateway Program's messaging and outreach align with project goals, while supporting public policy initiatives critical to its success.

Role Accountabilities:
As a Summer Intern you will:
• Assist in developing and implementing communication strategies to effectively engage key stakeholders, including government agencies, community groups, and the public.
• Support the planning and execution of public events, workshops, and presentations to promote awareness of the Gateway Program.
• Conduct research and analysis on transportation policies, funding mechanisms, and regulatory frameworks affecting the Gateway Program.
• Prepare briefing materials, reports, and policy memos for internal teams and external stakeholders.
• Assist in coordinating with government agencies, non-profits, and other partners to ensure alignment with public policy goals.
• Work closely with project managers, communications teams, and policy experts to understand the program's broader impact.
• Attend project meetings, stakeholder sessions, and public forums to gain exposure to infrastructure policy and communications strategies.
• Proactively develop skills in public relations, transportation policy, and project management.

Qualifications & Experience:

Education:

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Communications, Public Administration, Public Policy, Urban Planning, Political Science, or a related field.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel); experience with graphic design or social media tools is a plus.

Experience (Preferred, Not Required):

• Previous internship or academic experience in public administration, policy research, communications, or community outreach.
• Familiarity with transportation or infrastructure projects is a plus.

The salary range for this position is $21.30- $37.50 / hour Actual salaries will vary and are based on several factors, such as experience, education, budget, internal equity, project and location.
