Drafting Supervisor (Engineering)
The Drafting Supervisor is responsible for leading, managing and providing guidance and oversight to all assigned functions of the drafting team to produce drawings effectively and efficiently.
Key Responsibilities & Tasks:
- Supervise and manage drafting personnel, including performance management, training, and development.
- Keep management advised of work status, workload, problems, and progress as related to work assignments.
- Manage on time deliverables of drawing outputs.
- As key owner of quality for the drafting department, will be responsible for defining and maintaining standard work processes, including drafting standards and drafting quality checklists.
- Provide on-floor support for manufacturing operations for any drafting related issues, problems, or improvements.
- Participate in engineering and general design reviews as required.
- Review drawings to ensure expected levels of quality and accuracy.
- Evaluate and approve drawings, specs and other documents.
- Conduct training to introduce new drafting employees.
- Develop and implement process improvements throughout the drafting department's day-to-day operations.
Education/Experience:
- Technical Drafting Degree
- 5+ years design drafting experience.
,Sheet metal and walk-in cooler - Successfully managed design protocols including fundamental design practices, engineering change and BOM structure.
Specific Knowledge, Skills, Licenses, Certifications, Etc.,:
- Knowledge of computer assisted with drafting (CAD) equipment and software. AutoCAD & Inventor preferred.
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret complex documents, including customer specifications and architectural drawing
- Leadership skills to manage diverse individuals and drive consensus
