Member Dev Officer (Finance)
At Blue, we discover pathways to realize your possibilities! Our Member Development Officer (MDO) is responsible for originating investment quality mortgage loans, second mortgages, Home Equity Lines of Credit, credit union portfolio and non-residential consumer loans, commercial loans and lines of credit in addition to acquiring deposit relationships. This position is primarily reliant on self-originated opportunities and will have minimal internal referrals. Take actions to enable the credit union to improve the experience for the member by accepting applications, conducting preliminary underwriting reviews, submitting loan applications to processing and underwriting for approval. This position is responsible for spending 50% of their time conducting development activities away from the Credit Union, building external relationships and generating new business as well as developing significant Center of Influence relationships. Loan officers are required to participate in business related development opportunities, attend/conduct home buying seminars, and other activities to encourage and promote relationship opportunities at Blue. The MDO is required to meet sales goals and objectives, regularly engage in making and soliciting sales and conducting sales related activities while supporting the needs of the credit union.
Experience
Three years to five years of similar or related experience, including preparatory experience. Experience with Federal Housing Authority (FHA), Veterans Affairs (VA), and Federal National Mortgage (Fannie Mae), construction loans, bridge loans, consumer residential and non-residential loans, commercial loans, deposit products and cash management services.
Education/Certifications/Licenses
Requires a college degree or equivalent experience and knowledge. Incumbents are required to maintain their registration active and current with the National Multistate Licensing System (NMLS) registration under the S.A.F.E. Act of 2008. Must be able to pass background and credit checks to ensure you meet NMLS registration and Blue requirements. Unfortunately, not meeting or staying current may result in a rescinded offer or removal from the role. A high school degree or equivalent A college degree.
Interpersonal Skills
A significant level of trust, credibility and diplomacy is required. In-depth dialogue, conversations and explanations with customers, direct and indirect reports and outside vendors can be of a sensitive and/or highly confidential nature. Communications may involve motivating, influencing, educating and/or advising others on matters of significance. Typically includes subject matter experts as well as first level to middle managers.
Other Skills
Is responsible for a width of information including but not limited to: the organizations current mortgage loan interest rates, commitment/rate lock/relock fee procedures, consumer loan products/rates/guidelines that are used in conjunction with Mortgage Lending (Exec lines, second mortgage products, swing loans, land loans, etc.).

Cheyenne, Wyoming Full Range: $59,373.38 - $89,060.07
Southern Colorado Starting Range: $63.842.34 - $71,822.64
Southern Colorado Full Range: $63,842.34 - $95,763.52

Physical Requirements
Is able to bend, sit, and stand in order to perform primarily sedentary work with limited physical exertion and occasional lifting of up to 10 lbs. Must be capable of climbing / descending stairs in an emergency situation. Must be able to operate routine office equipment including computer terminals and keyboards, telephones, copiers, facsimiles, and calculators. Must be able to routinely perform work on computer for an average of 6-8 hours per day, when necessary. Must be able to work extended hours or travel off site whenever required or requested by management. Must be capable of regular, reliable and timely attendance.
Working Conditions
Must be able to routinely perform work indoors in climate-controlled shared work area with minimal noise.
Mental and/or Emotional Requirements
Must be able to perform job functions independently or with limited supervision and work effectively either on own or as part of a team. Must be able to read and carry out various written instructions and follow oral instructions. Must be able to complete basic mathematical calculations, spell accurately, and understand computer basics. Must be able to speak clearly and deliver information in a logical and understandable sequence. Must be capable of dealing calmly and professionally with numerous different personalities from diverse cultures at various levels within and outside of the organization and demonstrate highest levels of customer service and discretion when dealing with the public. Must be able to perform responsibilities with composure under the stress of deadlines / requirements for extreme accuracy and quality and/or fast pace. Must be able to effectively handle multiple, simultaneous, and changing priorities. Must be capable of exercising highest level of discretion on both internal and external confidential matters.
