*Night Shift* CNC Machinist - Lathe (Manufacturing)
Summary of Position:
This position requires performing various machining operations in accordance with part specifications and working from blueprints, sketches, or drawings.
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:
Analyze and interpret blueprints, specifications, or sample parts to determine dimensions and tolerances of finished workpieces. Plan machine setups, position workpieces, and operate various CNC machines through production runs to form specified quantities of piece parts to specified tolerances. Deburr parts as needed. Monitor machine functions to ensure that parts are manufactured to defined specifications Perform first-piece inspections and make necessary adjustments to the machine to ensure parts are formed to designated tolerances. Complete inspection reports as required, repair any defects found and document critical quality information as necessary Perform preventative maintenance and ensure machines are operating optimally. Communicate with managers, production control, quality, and other shop personnel for assignments and to resolve quality issues. Act as a subject matter expert and train co-workers as requested. Document outstanding issues either written or verbally to ensure smooth transition between shifts. Actively participate in continuous improvement of our products and processes to better serve our customers and improve the overall profitability of MRL. Maintain a neat and orderly work area complying with all 5S initiatives and advise Production Supervisor of any maintenance problems that may need to be resolved. Follow and comply with all safety and personal protective equipment requirements. Perform other related duties as assigned.
Position Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent. 3-5 years of experience operating CNC Lathe machines is preferred; must have at least 2-years working experience at minimum-*no exceptions*. Blueprint reading, basic mechanical education, and knowledge of hand tools pertaining to assembly.
Night Shift Details:
There is a $3.00 an hour shift differential paid on top of the base wage for all night shifts worked. Night shift is a set schedule working Monday through Thursday from 3:30pm to 4:00am, with a meal break. Base Wage is dependent on experience and skill level.
