Pricing Analyst (Finance)

SUMMARY

Performs pricing analysis of all new parts to be entered into the Oracle parts database system. Actively administers existing parts through market-based pricing strategies to stay competitive in an ever-changing industry. Reviews market-based competitive data, aftermarket and original equipment manufacturer (OEM) pricing, and warranty usage information and communicates with Subaru Corporation (SBR) and Subaru of Indiana (SIA) in course of work.

PRIMARY ESPONSIBILITIES

  • Expeditiously provides updates to the Parts Pricing Master File, ensuring complete database integrity; this includes, but is not limited to, new model parts pricing, existing parts pricing updates, continual updates of auto-source rules, price lists, supersession chains, pricing-focused vendor communications, and all associated analytical functions. Evaluates export pricing and customs-related information and coding to ensure U.S. regulation compliance.
  • Develops and implements short-term (one year) pricing actions affecting sales and profit respectively by optimally pricing new model, collision, competitive, and sensitive parts. Maintains consistent purchase prices on similar part groups by studying exception reports and communicating out-of-line purchase prices to management. Prepares purchase price suggestions by analyzing market-based studies on competitor's models prior to new model releases.
  • Supports the implementation of a new pricing optimization system through process and procedure development, testing, and troubleshooting.
  • Selects competitive parts, from each function code group, to be sent to our third-party vendor for market analysis. Determines which parts should have aftermarket pricing, Original Equipment (OE) pricing, or combination of both, based on revenue opportunity.
  • Performs simulated pricing optimization analyses through the review of variables effecting sales and profits including, but not limited to, third-party vendor market research, warranty percentage evaluation, and annual parts sales information.
  • Performs function-code-level strategic pricing analysis in the interest of sales and profit maximization. Uses insights gathered from analysis to interpret market conditionals and react accordingly. Works with Parts Sales team to critically monitor market trends and adjust pricing accordingly.
  • Collaborates with the Accessory group and Accounting on pricing levels and margins. Calculates and loads port-installed pricing for all accessories in Oracle Retail Accessory Management (RAM) system.
  • Ensures that all pricing uploads meet or exceed Japan Sarbanes-Oxley Act (JSOX) requirements.
  • Builds the annual High-Cost Warranty report; this report will compile Subaru Corporation (SBR) parts list, catalog data, manufacturer's suggested retail price (MSRP), and warranty group labor time into a template for use by Warranty, SBR, and other Subaru stakeholders.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND PERSONAL QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or economics preferred
  • Intermediate to advanced data analytics experience Preferred
  • Ability to think critically with problem-solving capabilities in a constantly fluctuating market.
  • Pricing experience Preferred
  • Ability to work independently and perform financial data analysis on large data sets.
  • Ability to collaborate with team members both on- and off-site.
  • Excellent math skills with accuracy and an exceptional attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to interface with both internal and external partners in a professional manner.
  • Intermediate to advanced skills in the Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, and Access).
  • Familiarity with Oracle applications, Oracle Business Intelligence (OBI), and Qlik Preferred
  • Practical automotive technical knowledge and the ability to navigate a parts catalog Preferred
  • Prior experience with pricing optimization software Preferred

WORK ENVIORNMENT

  • Travel: 5%

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: 4-Year College Degree (BA, BS) and 4-6 years' experience

COMPENSATION: The recruiting base salary range for this full-time position is $70000 - $99900 / year. Within the range, individual pay is determined by factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
