Copy Of Resident Assistant (Administrative)
Job Summary:
The primary purpose of the Caregiver is to provide care and assistance to sick, disabled, elderly, or fragile individuals. You will work in an assisted living environment caring for the residents with their daily activities.
Responsibilities:
Assist residents with basic needsHelp residents understand and adjust to the aging process.Assist residents in and out of bed as neededBathes, dresses and assists residents with ambulationAssist and/or escort residents to the dining room for mealsTake and records residents vital signs.Administers prescribed oral medications under written direction of a Physician or as directed by the Nurse.Dresses wounds and performs other prescribed treatments delegated by the Registered Nurse.Collects samples from residents for testing purposes such as urine and stool.Documents services performed on residents.Reports any and all changes in residents conditions to the Registered or Licensed Practical Nurse.Assembles and uses such equipment as catheters, ileostomy and oxygen supplies delegated by the Registered Nurse.Sterilizes equipment and suppliesFollow and Mandated Care Competency Training Requirements.Other duties as assigned
Requirements:
High School diploma/ GED or one to three months of related experience.Must be able to read, write and communicate in EnglishPrevious care taking experience is preferred
Abilities:
Outstanding organizational skills.Strong Communications skillsetAbility to work independently and collaborativelyAbility to handle fast paced environmentKnowledge on Patient Care.
Physical Requirements:
Stand, sit and walk for long periods of time.Full ranges of motion to climb, balance, kneel, crouch or crawl.Full function of hands and armsOccasionally lift/or move up to 25 pounds with occasional lifting of residents at higher weight.Able to transport residents in wheelchairs.
