SUMMARY OF POSITION The Sewing Machine Operator will be working with various leather parts in the process of sewing the upper portion of the boots. ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. 1. Operate and maintain industrial sewing machine and related parts, including pattern plates, needles, presser feet, automatic cutting tools and blades to sew various parts of the boot upper. 2. Ability to efficiently start, stop, and control speed of machine with pedal. 3. Ability to ensure all pattern marks line up to each other. 4. Inspect and repair finished products as needed and make machine adjustments to compensate for errors or quality issues. 5. Inspect boot for quality assurance. 6. Identify basic machinery problems and request service or repairs as needed from your Supervisor. 7. Meet or exceed consistent daily and weekly output and quality goals. 8. Assist in all other positions within the department.
