Data Analyst (Information Technology)
Working Model: Hybrid
We have a balanced working model to ensure you have the flexibility you need. The successful candidate will balance their time between working in the office in Goshen, IN (minimum of two days) and working from home.
As a Data Analyst, you will be responsible for assisting in the definition of and the execution of the data strategy and governance oversight. Accountable for helping transform our business into a data driven organization with intent on building member value. Utilizes various business intelligence data, contributes to the identification of data sources and usage, and the application of the data governance program, and has a basic level of knowledge to utilize tools to create meaningful analysis and reporting.

HOW YOU WILL MAKE AN IMPACT
30% Act as team support for the business intelligence data lake infrastructure and processing questions and tickets. Collaborates with internal strategic business partners to develop decision making needs and planning for future data needs. Assess the key issues and data needs. Leverage data storage vendor relationships to support credit union initiatives. Lead assignment efforts to find ways to use data to improve current business processes through analysis and review of discrepant data resources and scenarios.
20% Oversee the ingestion of data into our enterprise data lake, as well as support team efforts to create the data flow from the data lake for ingestion into other custom reporting environments. Identify priorities based on identified business needs and execute on those priorities. Assist other members of the credit union's data community to include, but not limited to, decentralized data users.
20% Maintains data standards, data catalogues, data dictionaries, file view documentation, as well as templates for end-users to apply governance standards and table relationships knowledge to establish consistent single source of truth for key data fields.
15% Collaborates with various management teams and marketing staff to develop a plan for data usage, help identify gaps in data and works with external vendors who are working with us to identify our membership needs to generate sales. Works closely with other business data owners to understand business requirements via use cases, performance metrics regarding data quality, and performance of member facing products to grow the business.
15% Assist in unit and/or acceptance testing when new data insights or platform changes occur. Develop information for simple to moderately complex data requests including visualizations, query templates, ad-hoc reporting for various end-users in an appropriate form and frequency to include, but not limited to, dashboard content.

WHAT YOU WILL NEED TO SUCCEED
Experience
2+ years of experience in the financial industry including knowledge of data structures and data elements typically found in the financial industry.
Education / Certifications / Licenses
This level of knowledge is acquired through completion of an Associates or Bachelor's degree in Business, Analytics, or related technical school training. (Will consider additional years of experience in lieu of education requirement). Must have and maintain a valid driver's license.
PREFERRED SKILLS
- Expert knowledge of one or more data reporting tools including Excel, Cognos, Tableau, Power BI, SSRS or others.
- General knowledge of SQL with a strong understanding of data tables and table relationships.
- Professional level of verbal and written communication skills are essential to the position.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Demonstrated knowledge of Credit Union regulations, products, policies, procedures, services, related federal state and federal laws and regulations.
- The ability to motivate or influence internal or external senior level professionals is a critical part of the job, requiring a significant level of influence and trust.
- Obtaining cooperation and agreement on important outcomes via frequently complex and senior level dialogues.
- Advanced analytical and project management skills for a variety of tasks or projects.
- Ability to deal with complex problems involving multiple facets, variables, and situations.
