College Business Administrator (Finance)
1. Manages budgets, including managing and supervising annual budget preparations; monitoring and advising on department budgets and accounts; preparing budgetary and personnel reports, analyses and projections.
2. Provides training and development opportunities for faculty and/or staff and assures adherence to university policies and procedures.
3. Manages the salary administration function to ensure equity and fairness within the college.
4. Provides functional supervision for department business managers and office coordinators and exercises direct supervision of office staff.
5. May monitor and ensure building maintenance and safety; may monitor EEO and Affirmative Action missions.
6. Provides assistance to the Dean in the implementation of organization decisions, which may include writing policy statements; generating customized reports; and coordinating special events as needed.
7. Serves as resource to the Dean, associate deans, department chairs, etc. and provides liaison to university as well as to external units.
8. Serves on a variety of committees within the college, as well as university wide.
9. Administers the staff performance appraisal process for the college.
10. Supervises and controls purchasing of supplies and equipment, serving as the property custodian for the college.
11. Reviews and approves the reconciliation of accounting records with university reports/financial statements and prepares recurring financial /budget reports for internal purposes.
12. Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

• Experience in budget planning and financial management.
• Experience in Human Resources and Payroll administration

• Ability to prioritize and multi-task.
• Highest level of professionalism and respect for confidentiality.
• Ability to interact with all levels of internal and external constituents.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Masters Degree
• Experience with PeopleSoft Finance and HR.
• Experience with Hyperion Planning.
• Experience administering multiple departments in a higher education setting.
• Relevant University of Houston experience.
