OPS Social and Behavioral Researcher - Salaried OPS Medical Records Abstractor (Finance)
Salary Plan: Temporary
Hourly Rate: $50,000 - $55,000
A Social and Behavioral Researcher serves as a professional individual contributor on one or more research projects, with expertise in the application of specific knowledge involving the collection, analysis and interpretation of data. This position conducts and analyses research in a specialty such as health care, public health, education, behavioral science, mental health, or social science.
DUTIES:
Perform a comprehensive review of medical records to identify and confirm disease diagnoses.
Performs data entry of demographic and clinical data into a database management system.
Coordinates multi-week travel to counties throughout the state by planning visits to multiple facilities, making travel arrangements and submitting travel. Establishes and maintains working relationships with Health Information Management staff in statewide medical facilities to schedule appointments and request records for review.
Contributes to the development of reports for team meetings and project progress reports, and procedure manuals and abstractor's handbooks for conducting enhanced birth defect surveillance.
Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS (Education & Experience):
Minimum Qualifications:
This position requires a Bachelor's degree in a field directly related to the research or data analysis responsibilities and a minimum of one year of research experience; or a Master's degree in one of the same fields. Four years of progressively responsible work experience in a field directly related to the research may substitute for the Bachelor's degree.
