Solutions Consultant (Marketing)

Duties & Responsibilities:

VIAVI has an exciting opportunity for a Solutions Consultant with proven capability of defining and developing Solutions in the Wireless telecommunication networks sector, from concept through to introduction.

In this role, you will: establish customer needs and identify opportunities to deliver technical solutions and business outcomes; develop innovative solutions and services in collaboration with the direct field, product management and engineering teams; Support business and account growth and new business development; collaborate closely with internal and external stakeholders, across a market leading portfolio, to secure the supply of high-quality development, test & validation solutions and services to customers.

Key Responsibilities and Requirements

• Proficient across multiple technology domains and track record of designing and developing complex services/solutions to customers that include multiple product lines, partners and suppliers
• Serve as the primary liaison for solutions definition with the customer and VIAVI internal team whom capture and prioritise solution requirements, ensuring alignment with customer needs and strategic goals.
• Support Sales and Business development in preparing, submitting and winning Solution Proposals,  Bids and Proof of Concepts with customers.
• Responsible for producing the Solution definition and description documents drawing in associated contributors and expertise from the organisation as required
• Produce use cases aligned with customer needs/requirements
• Work with PLM and R&D for solution design, configuration and dimensioning and any custom development or engineering services work required for the solution
• Support the generation of the bill of materials and work for the proposal and quotation
• Support generation of the Statement of work and responses to customer RFPs/RFIs (request for proposal / Information) e.g. solution description, benefits and compliance.
• Refine requirements and solutions definition documents and gain sign-off based on feedback from the customer and internal stakeholders.
• Have a good knowledge of the VIAVI solution portfolio and value propositions
• Research and develop core product differentiators, positioning and competitive analysis.
• Key participant in the bid and quotation process and approvals.
• Support Customer meetings and dialog and lead discussions around Solutions requirements and definition.
• Support pre-deployment discussions and solution project kick-off
• Support Solution deployment team (CPM, FAEs, TaaS, etc.)
• Provide guidance on roadmap choices & priorities (into PLM/BU)
• Share best practices with other solutions consultants

Pre-Requisites / Skills / Experience Requirements:

Qualifications & Attributes:

Essential:

• Hold a Bachelor's Degree in Electronics, Telecommunications or Computer Science
• a strong technical background, with a wide knowledge of 3GPP Wireless Networking and Services
• Confident, self starter, able to negotiate requirements effectively between customer and business and engineering
• Strong written & verbal communication skills including with senior executive business decision makers as well technical decision makers, with demonstrated proficiency in creating clear, concise and accurate reports and presentations
• 5+ years of relevant experience in a telecommunications role, with a network equipment manufacturer, supplier or operator and in a customer facing role working across teams and geographies
• Ability to develop strong business and technical relationships with customers, partners and internal teams
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate across diverse teams and leadership levels.
• Passion for continuous learning across multiple products/services and being able to package and present them as complete solutions and services

Desirable:

• Hold a Masters Degree in Electronics, Telecommunications or Computer Science
• in Electronics or Telecommunications or Computer Science
• Strong knowledge of wireless telecoms networks, technologies and services e.g. 5G, LTE/LTE-A, RF and Network Test & Measurement, Open-RAN;
• Solutions development or automation within a TaaS or telecommunications environment.
• Experience and knowledge of Automation (e.g. Python/Jenkins), orchestrations, data management and analytics and cloud network infrastructure test integration, scripting languages
