We are recruiting for an Agency Managing Director to join our team in the North region. This role could be hybrid in the Chicagoland area, or could sit remote in Minneapolis/St. Paul, MN area.
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Agency Managing Director oversees agency partnerships to ensure profitable growth, align agency goals with strategic objectives, and drive exceptional customer service. This role is accountable for managing agency financial performance, cultivating long-term relationships, and navigating strategic initiatives that enhance agency success. With a high level of autonomy, this role collaborates closely with internal partners to leverage market insights and foster a proactive, growth-focused culture.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Oversee and manage the financial performance of agency relationships by tracking profitability, growth trends, and submission activity.
Build and execute agency business plans.
Identify opportunities to maximize growth opportunities by taking ownership of key performance metrics related to the agency's financial performance and work.
Act as the agency's primary point of contact and advocate within Amerisure, ensuring access to necessary resources and support.
Foster strong working relationships by helping agencies navigate internal processes and helping influence decisions, both internally and externally.
Exercise high-level premium authority, with the ability to influence underwriting decisions at the account level while ensuring decisions align with strategic objectives and maintain a high standard of customer service and satisfaction.
Collaborate with the distribution team to monitor total commissions paid to the agency, ensure agencies are incentivized appropriately, and drive positive financial performance through commission structures and opportunities for growth.
Identify, activate, and maintain new and existing agency relationships by engaging proactively at all levels, building strong partnerships, and creating a pipeline for new opportunities.
Serve as the escalation point for critical agency issues, ensuring timely resolution across various functions.
Inform and drive strategic decisions that benefit both Amerisure and agency partners by gathering marketplace intel to identify insights, opportunities, and challenges for consideration and action.
REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor's degree or equivalent years of experience.
8 years of middle market underwriting experience.
3 years managing direct business relations with agency ownership or leadership preferred.
Proven ability to identify long-term opportunities and risk and align agency efforts with strategic goals.
Track record of demonstrating initiative, taking ownership of issues, and motivating teams toward shared goals.
Proficient computer skills required, including Microsoft Office Suite.
Demonstrated successful ability to build positive relationships and partnerships within department, across the organization and with external customers.
Ability to think strategically with supporting analytical and problem-solving skills, including the ability to deal with ambiguity.
Ability to influence and persuade others.
Excellent organizational skills and ability to function in a fast paced, highly visible, and changing environment.
Ability to travel 40%.
